Transforming Education with Cutting-Edge Network Solutions
Grand Ledge Public Schools’ Journey to Zero Network Outages
Grand Ledge Public Schools, a dynamic educational institution in central Michigan, caters to over 5,300 students across 10 facilities. The district was facing significant challenges due to outdated network technology, leading to frequent hardware failures and inefficiencies in supporting both in-person and virtual learning environments. Realizing the urgency to modernize its network infrastructure, Grand Ledge embarked on a transformative journey with Sehi Computer Products and HPE Aruba Networking.
The Challenge: Aiming for Net Zero Network Outages
The Solution: Seamless Technology Transition
Grand Ledge’s IT infrastructure, comprised of aging HP ProCurve switches and older Aruba Wi-Fi access points, was in dire need of an upgrade. The district suffered from performance issues, technical glitches, and severe power supply challenges, sometimes causing school cancellations. A comprehensive overhaul of the wireless and wired network infrastructure became imperative to enhance educational delivery and support.
In collaboration with Sehi Computer Products, Grand Ledge undertook a swift and efficient network refresh during the summer of 2023. The district adopted a flash-cut approach, rapidly transitioning to HPE Aruba’s cutting-edge network solutions, including core and distribution switches, wireless access points, and advanced management systems like ClearPass and AirWave. This upgrade introduced a dual-core system enhancing network resiliency and significantly reducing the risk of outages.
